North West Province – The 2021 Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run that will take place at the ATKV Buffelspoort on Sunday 06 June 2021 has attracted the attention of a number of SA’s off-road speedsters including the likes of Givemore Mudzinganyama, Thabang Madiba, Edwin Sesipi, Nobukhosi Tshuma, Maphuti Elizabeth Phaka and Leilani Scheffer.

According to Givemore Mudzinganyama (2016 and 2017 Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run Long Route Champion), the competition is always tough at this event. “I came second in 2019. My goal will be to fight for the win. I would definitely recommend the Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run to other runners. The trails are beautiful, while the ambiance at this race is unmatchable. My advice to first time runners is to prepare well and don’t push too hard too soon on race day.”

No stranger to the Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run, Leilani Scheffer will be back in action in the 12km Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run. “The Platinum Trail Run has one of the best vibes for a single day race,” confirms Scheffer. “Having the race village at the ATKV Buffelspoort is fantastic as it feels like a little vacation. Although the trail run routes are challenging, the event caters for all levels of runners. I haven’t raced yet in 2021, so my goal will be to race hard, while enjoying the privilege to be able to race.” Scheffer is a former champion in the Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run Long Route (2017 and 2018) and Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run Short Route (2013 and 2016).
