After a two-year hiatus owing to COVID-19, the spectacular garden at Mulligatawny Farm will be open on the weekend of 12 and 13 February 2022 to raise funds for charity. This 16-hectare garden is now reaching maturity, and owner Michael Hogan has used the lockdown period to expand and improve the garden significantly.

Highlights of the garden include the lake with what is probably the country’s largest collection of waterlilies, the Garden Cathedral and the lovely walled potager. There are thousands of roses and irises, and Michael’s dramatic ceramic artworks create interest.

Since the last open garden in 2019, large sculptures by Angus Taylor and Beezy Bailey have been acquired, the Peacock Pavilion at the lake has been superbly renovated, and a dramatic new pool featuring a mosaic created by Michael has appeared next to the lake, flanked by a boules court. There are many other improvements to explore.

As usual, food and drink will be on sale, along with superb wines, bubbly and beer. Once again the uniquely delicious gins created by Primal Spirits will be available in the Peacock Pavilion.
