African Hills Safari Lodge – “The Old Cook Book”

For a bit of nostalgia try the African Hills Safari Lodge and enjoy your meal on the Bodenstein “voorstoep” while watching the animals wander by. In 1874 Cornelius Johannes Bodenstein bought the farm on which the lodge is built and the current restaurant is dedicate to this historical fact. A dusty, forgotten old book came to light and as the stained old paper leaves revealed this gem was in fact an old recipe book. Some of these wonderful old recipes are used with a modern Afro-Boer-Brit twist for your enjoyment. Spare a thought for these pioneers of old – who knows, you might even hear their whispers in the breeze.
