The Harties Cableway reopened for normal business on 9 October 2017 following an extended maintenance shutdown. The shutdown period, which followed a mechanical failure in the lower station in July, not only included maintenance to the cable cars and all the mechanical equipment, but also involved the replacement of a new rope in line with the Cableway's targets to achieve the highest safety standards.
