High-view chapel at Mountain Sanctuary, decorated by the owners and staff, the chapel walls are a work of art, the inside of the chapel is a wonderland, with an amazing view of the reserve through a large sliding door and huge windows, allowing you to experience the full view from every seat. Handmade chandeliers hang from the magnificent thatch and the wooden deck allows you the option of having that open air wedding, while guests have an unobstructed view of the couple.

Our beautiful chapel seats 80 and is set high, overlooking the reserve, to offer our couples and their loved ones, a breathtaking view of the reserve and mountains.

The chapel was built with the intention of allowing couples to get married, without the exorbitant expense that often comes with this special day, offering natural, simplistic celebrations, with a naturally beautiful setting.
Our workshop restaurant is situated close to the chapel for catering and a large lawn is available for those who prefer a picnic style, outside setting.

Valley Lodge & Spa also holds weddings and other events. Located along the riverside, we have a non-denominational, rustic yet elegant, thatch-roofed chapel. We can accommodate small wedding ceremonies for up to 120 guests. Valley Lodge & Spa’s wedding prices are affordable and truly worth the investment.

The chapel has a wood and burgundy decor and equipped with comfortable, high-backed chairs. On either side of the chapel, there are windowed doors that open to views of the gardens and river. This allows the subtle sounds of nature to provide a serene background ambience during the ceremony. The parking lot is close to the place of ceremony.

River Lodge Farm

“The Barn” is a non-conventional WEDDING/EVENTS Venue that is situated close to Johannesburg on a private farm, on the banks of the Crocodile River.

The venue is naturalistic; surrounded by 300 year old Stinkwood and River-Bush Willow (Combretum) Trees. The Old Sheep Shed has been turned into the main under-cover venue for dining and dancing, and the actual wedding ceremony takes place 300 metres away next to the river under the large trees. (There is a choice of three places along the river which is suitable). This same river frontage is also ideal for any event. The “Barn” can house 120 guests (incl a dance area).

Steynshoop has a magnificent chapel and function hall and is an ideal setting for weddings. The chapel is thatched, traditionally styled, full of character and very pretty.

It has a mezzanine section and can seat up to 150 people. The large function hall is also thatched and is ideal for wedding receptions. For smaller weddings, the pool-side thatched garden gazebo, with spectacular views of the Magaliesberg Valley over the dams, can be used for up to 80 people. The Valley Lodge and its adjoining Mountain Lodge can accommodate up to 50 people overnight and they have extensive facilities to entertain your wedding group and to make their stay enjoyable and memorable.

Warthogs Bush Lodge is now open for weddings. Wedding guests stay over in ten individual chalets which all have small wooden decks and are decorated in earthy tones, all set within a tree canopy. The bathroom with its outside shower is a real treat and brings guests just a touch closer to nature. If bush hospitality and simplicity is your thing, you would love the unpretentious but hearty brunch on offer which includes pap, wors and eggs, to dinner themes around braai menus, spit braais and potjiekos recipes.

Warthogs is a wonderful venue for bush-weddings, large company family fun days, bachelor and bachelorette parties, art weekends, photographic and bird-watching clubs, birthday parties and 21st celebrations. Warthogs is prepared to tailor make any events to suit your requirements.

Brides have a number of options available to them for the wedding ceremony, depending on the size of the wedding. The unique beehive thatched dome is perfect for smaller weddings, while a gazebo is erected in the centre of the bush camp for garden-style weddings. Should the bride prefer a chapel wedding or bush wedding, this can be arranged at Askari Game Lodge 2km down the road.
